Battlestar Galactica miniseries

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this. Please feel free to move.
So, I have all of the BSG episodes in the correct order using the TVDB naming convention (S01E01etc.) and all of the 'Specials' appear were they should in respective series', except for the miniseries.
I want it to show as the first episode of season one, but it is showing in 'Specials' and nowhere else. All of the other specials appear both in 'Specials' but also in individual seasons..
Is that possible to do by manually changing the nfo file?

Battlestar Galactica is an unusual show. It started off with a for TV mini-series, then moved onto a full TV show, so they are treated as two separate shows.

TheMovieDB lists two shows...
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/71365-batt...-galactica
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1972-battl...uage=en-US

TheTVDB used to list two shows, but they then combined them into one show with the mini-series added as specials...

There are a few ways to change this, but they all require nfo files.

In my own library I stitched the two episodes of the Mini-series into one file, then added it as the first episode of season 1. Then all subsequent episodes of season 1 I had to bump the episode numbers by one. Using this method requires nfo files.

Another method is to leave them in Specials, but in the nfo file add the following tags...
xml:
<displayseason>1</displayseason>
<displayepisode>1</displayepisode>
The episodes will still be in Specials, but it wall also force those episodes to be displayed in Season 1 before the first episode.

Ah, thank you. The second method worked. My version, I think, came on DVD and both episodes were already 'stitched' together.

Slightly off track. Looking at Firefly TV series. I'd like to add Serenity as the last episode of Season one. I've put a copy of it into my Season 0 folder.
Is it simply a case of creating a TV nfo for it and adding in something like:

<displayseason>1</displayseason>
  <displayepisode>16</displayepisode>
  <episode>1</episode>
  <season>0</season>

Or do I need to do something else?

I'll make it easy for you.

Here is my nfo file for Serenity the movie... https://paste.kodi.tv/vitinayuja
Add your video file and nfo to the Season 01 folder as Firefly S01E15.mkv (or S01E16 if you have split files for the movie length first episode)
Download a fanart or landscape image from TMDB and save it as Firefly S01E15-thumb.jpg
Scan into library

I like easy! Thank you very much. I'll try it when I get home from work this evening.
As an aside, I vaguely remember some nfo lines that would allow you to add files within seasons. something like 'before episode 5' or 'after episode 5' etc. It was aa few years ago so I may be misremembering. Do they sound familiar? Maybe they are defunct now?

Ah ok, thanks. It's me, I thought they were slightly different but obviously not.
