Get a RP2040 board and connect a TSOP to it.
Drag the firmware onto it.
Presss the button for 'Power on' on the remote, it will get stored in the eeprom.
Use the configuration software (stm32kbdIRconfig_gui for Windows or Linux), open kodi-template.map ('eeprom map - open file'), press 'set by remote - irdata' and
link the buttons on your remote to the keyboard keys by pressing the buttons one after the other. Finally press 'eeprom - flash' and 'eeprom - commit'.

This looks awsome! I don't see one with the ir receiver attached though. I wish someone would sell a pretty gpio ir receiver. On that plugs in and doesn't look like a fork

This is a do it yourself project, so you need to attach the ir receiver yourself.
If you prefer something ready, there is someone in Germany selling these and other devices ().

If you buy a board with headers soldered in, you don't need to solder.
Just connect the TSOP with dupont cables:
