Roger that. I have uninstalled it and hopefully it was the cause of the crashes. I started from scratch and since then I'm without audio. It doesn't matter in with order I power on the devices. After 5 or 6 times powering off/on everything is working and I have audio over HDMI. But it drives me crazy to do this every time I power on the system. What I did so far: If I install Openelec 6.0.3 I have always sound with that version. Installing Milhouse builds from Kodi 16 (Back then I always had audio) doesn't provide me audio. Also installing Kodi 17 Milhouse build doesn't give audio (but it did in the past). I searched the log, but I don't see any errors regarding audio. Then I changed the HDMI port, on with my raspberry pi, is on my amp to a different one, but this doesn't solve my problem. I have played with serveral settings in the config.txt file, like HDMI_drive=2, etc. The config file is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4DCePjqseWKbWxNdWQ0blRpQ00/view?usp=sharing Here is the log file when there is no audio: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4DCePjqseWKZlhxaDdQd0JtQkk/view?usp=sharing Here is the log when I have audio: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4DCePjqseWKaXVTSlo1aWFYMDg/view?usp=sharing In different topics I came across the tvservice command. Can you report output of: Code: tvservice -s You seem to be getting a different EDID in the two cases. no audio: Code: DEBUG: EGL initial desktop resolution 1920x1080 (1920x1080) @ 60.00i - Full Screen (1.00) Code: DEBUG: EGL initial desktop resolution 1920x1080 (1920x1080) @ 60.00 - Full Screen (1.00) I suspect in one case we are getting the edid from the AVR and the other we are getting the EDID from TV. It is possible that following this scheme: http://kodi.wiki/view/Raspberry_Pi_FAQ#TV_is_not_detected_unless_powered_on_first making sure audio is working when you capture the EDID will result in a permanent fix. RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - zaphod24 - 2016-11-11 Yeah, I'll try to do that tonight. From what I can tell, this is happening if I leave content playing but power off my TV. When the new CEC support came out, it added an option of being able to stop playback when the TV is powered off. Maybe that is the cause of the problem? The TV is powered on as first, second the AVR and at last the raspberry pi. There is 5 seconds between the devices when powering on. The strange think is that I have to power off the devices for 30 minutes before the audio over HDMI doesn't work anymore. If it's less than 30 minutes the audio over HDMI is working. I power off everything when I stop watching TV. Watching LiveTV using the MythTV plugin (mmal-mpeg2) and turn off the TV. This stops video playback. If I turn the TV back on soon after, it is black until I press a key on the remote and then the screen comes back. Whether or not I watch TV again later, sometime overnight the crash occurs. The last time was ~2am my time. RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - Sixekko - 2016-11-12 There is no sound anymore after the update. Somebody else got that issue? Well... I had no sound after starting music a youtube video or a movie but it got back on after starting a youtube live stream. So after that everything works fine for now...weird RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - Vimes - 2016-11-12 (2016-10-23, 10:43)DaveBlake Wrote:(2016-10-23, 10:07)meccs Wrote: Is this about the freezing or stuttering? I'm confused now. Because if it is still about the "freezing while audio continues" I can chime in. I have traced it back to #0919 and with those older builds it is a bit different. The picture AND audio freezes. My issue is sound continues but picture freezes for a moment then leaps to catchup. So not both. But it does not happen at repeatable places on a video like you describe. Enabling both sync playback to display and Adjust display refresh rate to match seems to have solved it. The randomness of the the picture freezing but the sound continuing makes it hard to determine what it could be. We can be watching for ages and nothing will happen and then the picture pauses for a few seconds whilst the sound continues but after that few seconds the picture then catches up. Sadly enabling sync playback to display no longer seems to enable DTS audio pass-through for sound. It didn't use to happen but again due to the randomness it is hard to remember when it did start. |
