RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - ezar - 2016-08-18 If I want to spin down external USB... RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - markius - 2016-08-19 Is there any reason that LibreElec wouldn't be able to play this file: Code: root@debian:/home/hts# mediainfo Olympics\ 2016\:\ Basketball.ts It plays in WMP and VLC without a problem. On LibreElec I just get black screen. I'm running LibreELEC (Milhouse) - Version: devel-20160817225656-#0817-g81237d7 [Build #0817] RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - TVPL - 2016-08-19 (2016-08-18, 17:24)Milhouse Wrote:I've checked, auto-update is "Never update...".(2016-08-18, 16:30)TVPL Wrote: The same in #817, debug log here: http://sprunge.us/QRWd My configuration no change since updated to libreElec buid #0607 (when DVD re-support)... Hmmm... but Kodi is clearly checking the repository for an update (and failing). I don't know, it makes no sense for this to have only started with #0814. Are you absolutely sure you don't see this in #0813 or earlier? I'm not able to reproduce, so perhaps a clean .kodi will help. RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - Milhouse - 2016-08-19 New LibreELEC.tv Krypton build #0818: RPi / RPi2 (Supercedes previous build) Code: # uname -a Based on tip of LibreELEC.tv master (44e3ae71, changelog) and tip of XBMC master (5ec77196, changelog) with the following modifications:
RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - ElectricPim - 2016-08-19 (2016-08-18, 18:13)Milhouse Wrote: Forcing a specific regulatory domain is not likely to be something that will be implemented or even needs fixing in LibreELEC - if the AP you are connected to is not announcing the correct regulatory domain (ie. country) then the current default behaviour ("global") is entirely correct. In such circumstances you will have to manually configure the regulatory domain/country in /etc/modprobe.d/cfg80211.conf. @Milhouse, thx for your lengthy explanation. RPI3. Remarks: My AP sends a country code Code: Country: NL Environment: Indoor/Outdoor Raspbian has a setting for WIFI Country code in raspi-config @popcornmix, @PhilE mentioned LibreElec needs one too. On my RPI LibreElec Code: iwlist wlan0 frequency So it doesn't actually listen to my AP. Probably thats why raspi-config has a setting for it. Maybe it's not Linux but WIFI driver firmware. Code: echo "options cfg80211 ieee80211_regdom=NL" > /etc/modprobe.d/cfg80211.conf Code: iwlist wlan0 frequency Thx, but still confused. Maybe a GUI solution has to be considered? RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - Milhouse - 2016-08-19 Forcing the country code seems wrong when the AP is correctly announcing the country/regulatory domain, but if it's needed (because the AP announcement is always ignored) then perhaps it's something that could be added in the WiFi section of the LibreELEC Settings add-on. RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - ElectricPim - 2016-08-19 Dunno why raspi-config has this setting, when following the WIFI country announcement of the AP should be the default. Must be a RPI3 issue, never had that problem with other Linux boxes. In this RPI3 case I would say: setting the country code by GUI would be nice. Maybe it can be solved by a firmware update? BTW my router let me setup the country code, don't you have that setting in yours? It's certainly a little odd that an announced country isn't honoured, maybe that could be fixed by a firmware or WiFi driver update. Presumably the country code is supported in raspi-config either because the WiFi driver won't/can't support announced countries or there are too many access points that fail to announce the country. With my Netgear DGND4000 I can choose a region such as Europe, Africa, Asia, Middle East, South America, or a subset of countries (USA, Canada, Mexico, Israel, Japan etc.) most of which have specific WiFi limitations/constraints, but not UK/GB or any other European country. Thanks, Netgear... I could be wrong about this announcement thing though, if so few access points support it then how does it work...? Perhaps since LE is only ever going to be the WiFi client there's little harm in configuring a more permissive country/regulatory domain (eg. GB) by default - it's only going to connect to channels 12 and 13 if the associated AP is configured to use those channels. Edit: LibreELEC supports WiFi access point "tethering" too so maybe not such a good idea. I doubt that, AFAIK you're not allowed to sell in countries that forbid certain channels when they're enabled by default. RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - Milhouse - 2016-08-19 Just looking at the channels listed by an Intel NUC (Intel WiFi), and "iwlist wlan0 frequency" returns channels 1-13 without any need to hack the country, so I'm starting to wonder if this is a Raspberry Pi 3 WiFi issue...? Or Intel are cheating... RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0) - melhemk - 2016-08-19 Regulatory domains are mostly applied on network infrastructure (Access Points, Wireless Controllers,..etc) and enterprise networking products rather than clients or devices containing WiFi. As typically if no AP can broadcast on a certain channel in a certain country, then no clients will access that channel. This is getting more confusing now since even clients can do hotspot modes. You can understand it more by looking into enterprise networking products from Cisco or Juniper. Edit: To add, then people will not be allowed in certain countries with their phones and laptops because that country has a different Regulatory Domain, you can even get your home router through customs and nobody will check, again it is more for enterprise networking products and importation in bulk quantities of network products to sell inside the country. Or Intel are cheating... IMHO it is a RPI3 thing. Why would they design a raspi-config setting? As I recall I read something about it and that for some regulatory reasons higher channels were disabled by default. Can't find the source. Maybe popcornmix or someone from the foundation can shed some light. I agree allowing more channels by default would be the easiest solution. Maybe Intel (and the rest of the world) is just pragmatic. |
