Yeah no idea - make sure no xserver is running when you try to start it :-) as vt7 would be blocked already.

RE: New Era: VAAPI with EGL interoperation - scf2k - 2016-02-22

As the new build from Milhouse has
Code:
Include [env] 3a6268c9: VAAPI: Enable EGL

is there something else that differs your builds fritsch?

RE: New Era: VAAPI with EGL interoperation - fritsch - 2016-02-22

Those are my commits. Biggest difference: I only ship plain and pure fernetmenta master - with no other cherry-picks.

But yeah, basically my builds are obsolete as most of the code was pushed into kodi's master anyways.

I see. Thanks for your answer.

Ok, thank you.
I tried also with v17 (7th feb build), and after a few tries seems a little better, but still ram going up to half after a couple of simple H264 movies seen (using VAAPI acceleration on a BeeBox).

Log needed? Angel

RE: New Era: VAAPI with EGL interoperation - incubus - 2016-02-22

@fritsch
Is there any means to stop ffmpeg spamming the kodi log with hundreds of lines like so :
Code:
INFO: ffmpeg[7F139BFFF700]: [mjpeg] Changeing bps to 8

RE: New Era: VAAPI with EGL interoperation - fritsch - 2016-02-22

Just disable FFMPEG component logging?

RE: New Era: VAAPI with EGL interoperation - incubus - 2016-02-22

Ah yes maybe. I never played with those settings. I will try when back home. Thanks!

RE: New Era: VAAPI with EGL interoperation - scf2k - 2016-02-22

Caught a bug which I have met a few times before. This time I have a log http://pastebin.com/KYGGn6Qj
At 00:10 I started playing a file and from the start it was playing a few frames every several seconds, then freezing, then a few frames again and so on, no sound. I stopped, started play again. Got black screen issue this time. Stopped/started again - all is fine this time.

Most likely your NAS awaking slowly ...

RE: New Era: VAAPI with EGL interoperation - scf2k - 2016-02-22

It wasn't sleeping! I just watched another file jus before Smile

RE: New Era: VAAPI with EGL interoperation - fritsch - 2016-02-22

Oki - then let it sleep, it is tired.

New Era: VAAPI with EGL interoperation - VirtualRain - 2016-02-23

Is this expected?...

I set the Kodi GUI to 3840x2160 at 23.98 Hz. I have Adjust Display Refresh Rate enabled on start/stop. I play a 1080p video. There is no display refresh rate change. TV reports 3840x2160p 23.98Hz signal input. 1080p video is playing normally.

How is this possible. Is Kodi upscaling?

Version 6.0.198-INTEL_EGL

Edit: never mind... It is upscaling, although supposedly not that well (although I was hard pressed to notice any difference)
