Android ISO files no longer play after update... is there a fix ???
#1
Prior to last night my Shield TV played all my ISO movie files flawlessly.  After what appears to have been an update yesterday it no longer plays any ISO at all.

Is there a fix for this ??   If not, how can I go back to the previous version that worked ?  Also, how does one turn off updates entirely so this doesn't happen again ?

Thank you...

It seems I have the same issue..... although one did play, where it had been partially played prior....

Your problem is most likely https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/24955 and a fix will be provided in Kodi 21.1. Until then you can switch to the Omega nightly: https://mirrors.kodi.tv/nightlies/android/

That'd be nice ... but nightlies don't install don't install over the release.  See https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid3195489

Relevant setup:
I just attempted to install the 20240429 nightly
    kodi-20240429-625be876-Omega-armeabi-v7a.apk
over the 20240409 release
    kodi-21.0-Omega-armeabi-v7a.apk

Relevant log message:
PackageManager: Downgrade detected.  Update version code 2100000 is older than current 2100001.

I have no insight into version codes and whether the APKs have correctly increasing version codes.

Same error message trying to install
    kodi-20240502-71395c4b-Omega-armeabi-v7a.apk
over the 20240409 release
    kodi-21.0-Omega-armeabi-v7a.apk

PackageManager: Downgrade detected.  Update version code 2100000 is older than current 2100001.

I more strongly suspect the release had an incorrect version code or all the nightlies do.

Confirmed.  Installs over the release version and plays ISOs.

What about MKA files? Has anyone else tried them in Omega?

It now shows the last track first here (all tracks after start with track 01 and work normally), but with a bizarre track length shown (about 2/3 the album on average) and that track cannot be played directly (it will play if you use the movie player and play through the next to last track as it just keeps on going). It worked fine in Matrix and Nexus here. I've been asking around and haven't gotten one person to so much as confirm the problem isn't just in my install (Nvidia Shield Pro 2017 model).

This is how it looks:
